Counselling & Therapy
The intellect has little to do on the road to recovery. There comes a leap in consciousness, call it intuition or what you will, and the solution comes to you and you don't know how or why
- Albert Einstein
My Approach
Although my initial training is psychodynamic, my approach is now integrative and I work with elements from CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) and Person Centred depending on the needs. I also sometimes use elements of reflective art therapy. These are workshops in which we may use pictures and drawings to help with the expression of feelings.

My core belief is working with the ‘Therapeutic Alliance’, The Attachment Theory (Winnicott, Bowlby) as I am a firm believer that experiences of early relationships, and sometimes past traumas, inform present problems.
I also learnt that people, knowingly or unknowingly might ‘medicate’ their pain with substance misuse or dysfunctional compulsive behaviours.
I offer a warm, non- judgmental safe place, whilst abiding by the BACP code of ethics, for you to explore your feelings and problems and gain Self-Awareness.
